Small brad nails are used to install metal weatherstripping but they are so small they are difficult to hold. Gripping the brad with a needle nose pliers works, but it involves an extra tool that you don’t always need (unless you’re working in a confined space.) A cross peen hammer is a good solution. By starting the nail with the wedge side, you avoid hitting your thumb and forefinger. After the nail has been started, flip the hammerhead around and drive it home.
